As part of our Girl EXPO and Volunteer Conference-A New Chapter in Girl Scouting, we invite our volunteers to join us during this exciting virtual session through Zoom. From the Culinary Department from Southwestern Illinois College, Chef Casey Parker and Chef Jessie Bostick will share at least one nutritional recipe and the steps on how to prepare a fun and delicious snack with your girls.  Pull out your aprons and roll up your sleeves as this presentation is bound to offer volunteers new ideas to help unleash the cooking aspirations in your girls!

As a previous restaurateur, Chef Casey Parker has had a longtime passion and love for all things food and hospitality.  Chef Casey received her dual Associates in Applied Science degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking &Pastry from Southwestern Illinois College and has recently joined the instructional teaching team.  Chef Casey, a former Girl Scout herself, is a proud mother and grandmother and is excited to share her cooking passion with our volunteers.

Chef Jessie Bostick is an award-winning sugar artist, culinarian, & pastry chef. After retiring from the Air Force in 1998, Chef Jessie realized she had a passion for cooking & decided to go to culinary school. It was there that she discovered “sugar art” & decided to share her newfound excitement with others. In 2014, she started Sugar Doodles, an arts & entertainment company dedicated to teaching classes, hosting events, & helping others find their joyful creative spirit. In 2015, she joined the Culinary Arts team at Southwestern Illinois College as a culinary & pastry arts instructor, where she continues to share her knowledge of all things cooking & baking with future chefs.
